Colorado is trying to figure out how to handle a specific group of illegal immigrants. Those who’ve been arrested for violent crimes. Some sheriffs and police chiefs in Colorado want to join a program to share information with the federal government. They say Secure Communities will make it easier to deport dangerous and undocumented immigrants. But immigrant rights groups say the program is flawed and argue that people who are never convicted of crimes will end up being deported.
