With Humor, Denver YouTuber Challenges Stereotypes About Islam And Pakistan

More than 50,000 people subscribe to Tazzy Phe's YouTube channel. They come for her funny and insightful videos about her Muslim faith and Pakistani roots, including "American Guide to Pakistan" and "How Many Hijabs Does a Hijabi Have?"

Tazzy Phe is the YouTube personality of Tasneem Afridi, who lives near Denver. When she's not filming and editing YouTube videos, she works as a corporate recruiter. And Afridi was one of 27 individuals recently named a YouTube "Creators for Change" fellow, an honor recognizing people who create videos that challenge extremism, hate and negative stereotypes.

Afridi spoke with Colorado Matters host Ryan Warner.
