Signs at the Republican state assembly.

The primary ballots for Democrats and Republicans started firming up this past weekend as the parties held their state assemblies. On the Democratic side, former State Treasurer Cary Kennedy and U.S. Rep. Jared Polis both won spots on the Democratic ballot to succeed term-limited Gov. John Hickenlooper. State Treasurer Walker Stapleton and former Parker Mayor Greg Lopez emerged as the Republicans' top choices at their assembly. CPR News reporters Sam Brasch and Ann Marie Awad were at the assemblies, and we also hear highlights from speeches by key players from each party.
