Needless to say, excitement is particularly rampant here in Colorado and over in Washington state. So, in the spirit of friendly competition, we spoke with our friends at KEXP, the well-renowned public music radio station in Seattle.

Our morning host Keefer Fulgham threw down against KEXP morning host John Richards over Sunday's big game. Unsurprisingly, Richards favored Seattle's top-ranked NFL defense, and Keefer wisely championed Denver's top-ranked offense.

The hosts also took the opportunity to discuss the excellent music scenes in their respective cities. Richards explained how Seattle's climate, geography, and collaborative spirit are all vital aspects of the Pacific Northwest scene. Keefer in turn mentioned Denver's similar collaborative musical climate and the vast opportunities available for local musicians.

Each host shared a song from his city, with Richards choosing a track from Washington band The Lonely Forest, and Keefer providing a tune from one of our favorite local artists, Nathaniel Rateliff.
