Monique Brooks Roberts is a violinist, composer, producer, and arts storyteller with a 20-year career spanning classical, contemporary and popular music. She is originally from Louisville, KY and has performed in venues including Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, the Hollywood Bowl and on international stages in Russia and Spain. She's played in orchestras for the Oscars and the Grammys and has collaborated with artists such as Aretha Franklin, Lady Gaga and Cynthia Erivo.
In addition to her work as a performer, Monique is also a producer with Wondersmith Entertainment, where she helps create large-scale music projects centering women and historically underrepresented artists in music and dance. She also taught music for 15 years and has a deep passion for music education and mentoring the next generation. On air, she brings curiosity, warmth and a love of musical storytelling — connecting listeners to music through history, context and her lived experiences.

Monique holds a degree in violin performance from Eastern Kentucky University.
