Ride helped define the shoegaze genre of the 1990s with influential records like "Nowhere" and "Going Blank Again." The British rock band released a string of critically acclaimed albums before splitting up in 1996. The quartet reunited in 2014 and this year released its fifth studio album, "Weather Diaries."

More from OpenAir Sessions:

Ride visited us in the CPR Performance Studio shortly before a show at Summit Music Hall in Denver. The band members played acoustic versions of two "Weather Diaries" tracks along with two songs from "Nowhere." They also spoke with Jeremy Petersen about the music that influenced Ride over the years, how they spent the 21 years between albums and a My Bloody Valentine reunion show that inspired the band to reunite.

Stream the session and watch Ride perform "Lannoy Point" above.
