Live broadcast May 2: Opera Colorado’s ‘The Magic Flute’

Photo: Magic Flute Opera ColoradoOpera Colorado’s new production of Mozart’s “The Magic Flute” opens Saturday, May 2, and CPR Classical will broadcast the performance live beginning at 7:30 p.m.

One of the most widely performed operas in history, “The Magic Flute” tells the story of a prince, his trusty sidekick and their quest to save a princess.

Opera Colorado’s production, directed by Daniel Witzke, features video projections that enhance the dreamlike setting of the story. The cast includes Maureen McKay as Pamina, Jonathan Boyd as Tamino, So Young Park as the Queen of the Night, Daniel Belcher as Papageno and Camille Jasensky as Papagena.

The performance repeats on May 5, 8 and 10.
