US 36 could soon have $14 tolls

Officials will meet Tuesday morning to decide whether to increase tolls for express lanes along I-25 in Denver and set tolls for express lanes along US 36.

The meeting by the state’s High Performance Transportation Enterprise will include a presentation by Plenary Roads Denver, a consortium of companies that will manage the toll lanes. There will also be a public comment period.

The board could then approve tolls along US 36 that could top nearly $14 for those without an express toll pass who use the lanes during peak travel times.

If approved, the toll increases along U.S. 36 would come online in mid-summer next year. Toll increases along I-25’s express lanes would begin in March of this year.
