Facts and Fiction in Campaign Ads

Marshall Zellinger dissects the assertions, accusations and innuendo in dozens of political TV ads. He tells Colorado Public Radio's Mike Lamp most ads aren't completely untrue. They take a factual statement, then surround it with exaggerations and false connections that can mislead viewers - and voters. An ad in one Colorado Congressional race uses a candidate's own words against him, in a way that may or may not be fair. Zellinger produces the "Facts or Fiction" election series for KMGH, Denver's Channel 7.
