For Some, Suicide May Be The Price Of Living In A Ski Town Paradise

Western ski towns have a higher suicide rate than other areas. It’s hard to pinpoint why this is happening but some experts believe the ski town culture, high altitude and economic inequality may be factors.

Journalist Kelley McMillan recently looked into this complex trend for a story in National Geographic Adventure Blog. She spoke to Colorado Matters host Ryan Warner.
