Scott Jurek is one of the country’s best long distance runners -- really LONG distances. The Boulderite has won the Western States Endurance Run seven times, the Badwater Ultramarathon twice -- a 135-mile jaunt across Death Valley -- and he holds an American record for running 6.5 marathons in a single day. He’s a favorite for the the Leadville Trail 100 this weekend. The grueling 100-mile course covers steep terrain near Leadville. In most years, less than half the starters complete the race within the 30-hour time limit. Jurek spoke with Colorado Matters producer Lesley McClurg.
