With a new EP on the way, Colorado's The Whicker and Pine stopped by the OpenAir studio for an exclusive performance to play some of the new songs. The project's origins center around the work of musician Jon Johnson, a Seattle native who now resides in Denver. Johnson has shared the stage with Seattle staples like The Head and the Heart, Damien Jurado, and Robin Pecknold of Fleet Foxes. Although this effort started as an outlet for Johnson's solo music, it has evolved into a full band featuring guitarist Sean Brage, bassist Drew Harper, and JD Raab on drums.
While at OpenAir, the guys also chatted with Corey about the forthcoming self-titled record and other future plans. Listen to the OpenAir studio session with The Whicker and Pine below.
