Selected as "Best Roots Rock" band of 2013 by Westword, Strange Americans talked about the influence of the film "Jeremiah Johnson," sounding like veterans despite being a relatively new band, and moving from Americana into harder rock.

After performing at last weekend's UMS, the band will play an album release party with The Knew and Josh Dillard & The Streaks of Lightning at the Bluebird Theater on Sept. 12 to celebrate "That Kind of Luster," the follow-up to 2012's "A Royal Battle."
