Denver band King Cardinal recently made their way into the CPR Performance Studio to talk about their release show this Friday for the new EP "Once a Giant" at The Deer Pile in Denver.

Led by singer Brennan Mackey, the folk band shares members with local groups The Raven & the Writing Desk and Rossonian.

Mackey spoke with OpenAir's Aaron 'Loki' Johnson about coming up with the band's name, the theme of redemption behind the new songs and the upcoming release show.
