Seattle artist Briana Marela makes songs with looped and layered vocals and electronic instruments. Despite its somewhat robotic nature, the music on her latest record, "All Around Us," contains surprising warmth and humanity.
Marela recorded the album in Iceland with producer Alex Somers. The single "Surrender" emulates the sweeping crescendos of Somers' work with Icelandic band Sigur Ros.
