The annual Westword Music Showcase returned to Denver on Saturday. The daylong event took place across more than a dozen venues and two outdoor main stages in the Golden Triangle neighborhood.

Several venues endured power outages, which forced some artists to cancel their sets. However, many Colorado performers took the opportunity to perform impromptu acoustic sessions during their set times at venues like Stoney's, City Hall and more.

Meanwhile the national acts -- bolstered by a new, second main stage -- performed outside without any electricity issues. Large crowds congregated under the Colorado summer sun for trap producer Dillon Francis, alternative rockers Cold War Kids and high-energy pop enthusiasts Matt & Kim.
