Singer-songwriter Haley Bonar has spent more than a decade quietly releasing albums while performing with indie artists like Andrew Bird and Alan Sparhawk of Low. Born in Canada and raised in South Dakota, Bonar has since established herself as a force in the Twin Cities music scene.
Bonar's new single "Kismet Kill" immediately distinguishes itself as one of her more aggressive -- and catchy -- releases. It's a song about young and dangerous love, with memorable lines like "I got a death wish by my side" sung forlornly over a chugging guitar line.
Her latest album, "Impossible Dream," is out Aug. 5.
