Cloud Nothings, ‘Modern Act’

Cloud Nothings return with the album "Life Without Sound" on Jan. 27. Frontman Dylan Baldi writes that the new album is "my version of new age music."

But fans of the Cleveland band shouldn't worry about Baldi getting too mellow. Lead single "Modern Act" continues in the punk rock tradition of previous releases.

Baldi's snarling vocals convey both confidence and desperation with lines like, "I want a life / That's all I need lately / I am alive but all alone."
