Flo Morrissey And Matthew E. White, ‘Look At What The Light Did Now’

· Dec. 5, 2016, 7:15 am

London newcomer Flo Morrissey and veteran bandleader/label runner Matthew E. White have joined forces on the new album "Gentlewoman, Ruby Man."

It's a covers record that takes on classic artists like The Velvet Underground and Leonard Cohen as well as modern acts like Frank Ocean and James Blake.

The opening track, "Look At What The Light Did Now," is a song originally written by indie folk artist Little Wings. Morrissey and White's take is more jovial than the original acoustic version and features a full rock band. The 21-year-old Morrissey and White trade lead vocal duties, establishing a sharp juxtaposition between their voices.
