Springtime Carnivore, ‘Midnight Room’

Greta Morgan's first release of 2016 was a collection of punk rock covers -- ranging from The Stooges to Billy Idol -- with Katy Goodman of La Sera. The record, titled "Take It, It's Yours," showcases Morgan's strong but soothing vocal delivery -- even on songs with frenetic and even violent lyrics.

The Los Angeles singer-songwriter's hypnotic vocals also captivate on "Midnight Room," her sophomore release as Springtime Carnivore. The album's title track opens with determined acoustic guitar strums and soon settles into a country-folk groove.
