Successful entrepreneurs have to be optimistic in order to succeed where others may have failed, and that may make them more prone to hide mental health struggles like depression.

Brad Feld, who co-founded the venture firm the Foundry Group and Jerry Colonna, co-founder and CEO at Reboot.io, a coaching company based in Boulder, told Colorado Matters that they're on a mission to change that.

Both Feld and Colonna have been diagnosed with depression and have been featured in articles and on panels about the need for entrepreneurs to talk about their own mental health -- for themselves and their businesses.
