Listeners are responding to several Colorado Matters stories that caught their attention this week:

Denver woman survived Holocaust by hiding in the forest for years

Hearing that conversation, listener Barbara Koelzer tweeted: "Thanks for your story on Paula Burger. Amazing story of survival. Glad she wrote her book. Such stories must never be lost."

Colorado's ash trees under threat by deadly bug

It's easy to feel daunted after hearing this story. Afterall, much of the urban tree canopy in Boulder and Denver is ash. Listener Mark Bailey opened our eyes to a non-profit in Denver that makes trees (including a lot of species other than ash) available at a low cost.

Finding a doctor depends on where you live

After hearing this story, one listener wondered if Colorado had a student loan forgiveness program for medical professionals who agree to work in high-need areas. The answer is "sort of." Learn more about the Colorado Health Service Corps.
