Update: 11:00 a.m.

Wind chills of up to negative 25 are possible across eastern Colorado.

The regular temperature was just 0 in Denver at dawn on Wednesday but it felt more like 19 below. The high was only expected to be 5 degrees.

Denver broke a nearly century-old record for the lowest temperature ever recorded on Nov. 11 with a low of 16 and it's expected to break another record today.

The arctic airmass that's keeping things so cold is also producing some moderate to heavy snow, which has been making travel difficult.

Nancy Kuhn with the Denver Public Works department says the city has deployed all 70 of its snow plows.

“What we would expect to see this evening is continued snow-packed roads. We are laying down de-icing materials so that will provide some traction," Kuhn says. "But people need to understand there could be some icy spots and we want them to go slowly and leave in plenty of time to get to their destinations.”

A woman died in a two vehicle crash in Jefferson County on Tuesday. In Colorado Springs, an SUV slid into the front of a home, but no one was seriously injured.

Flights out of Denver International Airport are being delayed by about an hour because of snow and deicing.

The temperature at the airport was hovering around zero at the airport Wednesday morning, putting it on track to break another daily weather record.

Snow fall totals, as of 10:20 a.m.
