Seattle band Pickwick stopped by the CPR Performance Studio earlier this month in the midst of a tour supporting their great debut album Can't Talk Medicine. Self-described as "garage R&B," the six members of Pickwick compose tracks like "Hacienda Motel" that combine the most satisfying elements of those two genres: an undeniable groove that's rough around the edges.

Keefer chatted with the band about their switch from folk to their current sound, recording their album in their own house, and the influence of Lou Reed on their name and sound.
