New York City Sweepstakes Rules
Sweepstakes Period
The sweepstakes period is Thursday, Dec. 18, 6 a.m., through Wednesday, Dec. 31, 11:59 p.m. MST.
Prize Information
The total trip value is $5,000, courtesy of CPR Members Tom and Sharon Scanlan.
The trip will be managed by Globe Getaways and includes
- Roundtrip airfare from Denver International Airport
- Transfers to and from the airport in New York City
- Three nights of accommodations at a 4-star hotel in the winner’s choice of New York City neighborhood
- Customized experiences and activities planned with Globe Getaways
- Tickets to the Colorado Symphony at Carnegie Hall on Sunday, Feb. 1, if the winner chooses to travel at that time
General Sweepstakes Rules
Eligibility
- Sweepstakes is open to legal residents of the United States only.
- To be eligible for a travel prize, the winner must be 18 or older.
- Employees of Colorado Public Radio, the donor’s employees, and their immediate families are ineligible.
- One winner per household; selected winners are ineligible to win additional prizes within 120 days.
Entry Rules
- A contribution is not required to enter.
- One entry per household per sweepstakes event. Multiple entries are void and only the first entry is counted.
- Entries will only be accepted during the sweepstakes period, as announced on air, online or via email.
- For phone entries, the time stamp is based on when the call is answered by a Colorado Public Radio representative.
- For online entries, the time stamp is applied when the entry or donation page loads.
- Email is required for notification.
- Automated or scripted entries will be disqualified and restrictions on access to cpr.org may be invoked.
- Colorado Public Radio is not responsible for entries not received because of internet or telephone issues.
Prize Conditions
- This prize is non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash. If the winner declines the prize, no substitute prize will be offered.
- Results of the drawing are final; no substitutions or exchanges are allowed.
- Winners will be randomly drawn and notified by a station employee within 15 days of the end of the sweepstakes period.
- Winning names may or may not be announced on air.
- If a prize is refused or unclaimed for one week (or 48 hours for concert ticket giveaways), a new winner will be drawn. The process will repeat until the prize is accepted.
- Prizes valued at more than $600 will be reported as taxable income under IRS regulations.
- In cases where the prize is donated, the winner may be subject to additional requirements set by the donor
Travel Specific Conditions
(For sweepstakes that include travel packages)
- The winner must sign a travel agreement.
- All included services are subject to availability.
- Travel excludes holidays including Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s week, Memorial Day, the Fourth of July and Labor Day.
- Taxes, additional fees and optional activities are the responsibility of the winner.
- Significant penalties may apply for changes after ticketing.
- Once booked, tickets are nonrefundable.
- Colorado Public Radio assumes no responsibility for property loss, damage or personal injury resulting from any prize.
Promotional Use
The winner agrees to participate in the promotion of the event or prize, including the use of their name, photograph or likeness.

The names of winners and a copy of these official rules may be obtained by mailing a self-addressed stamped envelope to Colorado Public Radio, 7409 S. Alton Court, Centennial, CO 80112.
