In 2005, Lucinda Perry wrote a novel about a rural Colorado town struggling to survive. Now, she's formed Off the Beaten Path, a group of 17 businesses in four towns in southeastern Colorado. Members hope to lure curious tourists and passing truckers to Kit Carson and three other towns along Highway 287. Lucinda Perry talks to Dan Meyers.
