The Lumineers’ hit song, “Ho Hey” officially reached platinum status on Wednesday, surpassing the 1 million mark for copies sold. An incredible accomplishment just over six months in the making, the band averaged 50,000 copies of the song sold per week. The Denver based trio has had a stellar year since the April release of their self-titled debut album, consistently holding a spot in iTunes’ top 10 albums and fastly approaching the 400,000 mark for copies sold. After a performance on The Late Show with David Letterman Wednesday, this indie-rock outfit is embarking on a three-week European tour before returning stateside and closing out the year with two sold-out shows at The Ogden in Denver.
