Touted as a garage rock revival band, The Outfit succeeds at instilling substance into the realm of modern rock.
"I think we all appreciate just the raw nature of that whole movement... and how they were able to bring so many influences from the past and really twist it in to their own thing," says frontman Eric Johnston, who is the only original member remaining in the Denver band. And with the latest lineup change comes a fuller, heavier sound for the band, as evidenced by 2013's "Tough Kids" EP.
On the eve of its release, the Outfit visited the CPR Performance Studio to play some new material and chat with host Corey Jones. Listen to the OpenAir session HERE.
The Outfit celebrates the new record's arrival by headlining at the Larimer Lounge on Saturday, August 24. Also catch the band performing at the Mercury Cafe on September 11 during Audiovore's Fortunate Listener event and opening for the Lumineers in front of a sold-out crowd at Red Rocks Amphitheatre on September 15.
