David Byrne announces "Contemporary Color" featuring music from St. Vincent, tUnE-yArDs, Nico Muhly and more

David Byrne has announced a new collaborative project based on color guard (flag spinning) performances set to original music.

"Contemporary Color," presented in partnership with Brooklyn Academy of Music and Toronto’s Luminato Festival, will feature music from Byrne, St. Vincent, tUnE-yArDs, Blood Orange, How to Dress Well and Nico Muhly with Ira Glass among others. It will take place June 22 and 23 in Toronto and June 27 and 28 at Brooklyn's Barclays Center.

Primavera Sound releases 2015 lineup

Barcelona's Primavera Sound Festival has announced its 2015 lineup for the event taking place May 25-31. It includes The Black Keys, The Strokes, The Replacements, Sleater-Kinney, Patti Smith, Belle & Sebastian, James Blake, tUnE-yArDs, Shabazz Palaces and many more.

New releases announced this week

  • The Mountain Goats will release "Beat the Champ" on April 7 via Merge. Its the fifteenth studio album from John Darnielle's music project, and is reportedly a collection of songs dedicated to professional wrestling.
  • Bjork released her latest LP "Vulnicura" two months ahead of schedule via iTunes to combat pirated online leaks.
  • Toro Y Moi's fifth album "What For?" is out April 7 on Carpark Records.
