Sasquatch! Festival announces music lineup for 2015

The 2015 Sasquatch! Music Festival takes place May 22-25 at the Gorge in Quincy, Wash. The lineup was announced this week: it features Kendrick Lamar, Modest Mouse, Lana Del Rey, St. Vincent, Spoon, The New Pornographers and many more.

Kim Gordon to release memoir documenting end of Sonic Youth

Kim Gordon, former bassist and vocalist for Sonic Youth, will release the memoir "Girl in a Band" on Feb. 24. The book reportedly documents Gordon's breakup with ex-husband and Sonic Youth co-founder Thurston Moore, which led to the band's dissolution in 2011. Gordon's also writes of the band's early days and discovering Nirvana and Black Flag. [via Pitchfork]

New releases announced this week

  • Built to Spill's eighth studio album, "Untethered Moon," is out in April via Warner Bros.
  • Unknown Mortal Orchestra will release "Multi-Love," the follow-up to 2013's "II," on May 26 via Jagjaguwar.
  • Massachusetts indie band Speedy Ortiz will release its third album "Foil Deer" on April 26 via Carpark.
