Colorado’s Oskar Blues Brewery, Washington’s DC Brau brew homage to legal weed

Longmont-based Oskar Blues Brewery has teamed up with DC Brau to make a new beer that smells like marijuana, reports Washington City Paper. The collaboration, a 7 percent alcohol IPA called "Smells like Freedom," honors the recent legalization of marijuana in D.C., according the breweries.

"Literally, they're like cousins," DC Brau founder Brandon Skall said about some of the key ingredients -- hops. "A lot of times if you smell fresh hops, it's just a very similar smell."

If that concoction doesn't tickle your taste buds, perhaps you'd like something more, well, corny. Oskar Blues has also announced that it's brewing up "Cornlaboration," in cahoots with Perrin Brewing Company of Comstock Park, Michigan.
