The Colorado Department of Transportation has delayed the launch of its interstate highway bus service.
The service was expected to begin in April, but CDOT spokeswoman Amy Ford tells the Glenwood Springs Post Independent it's now on track to begin in late spring or early summer. CDOT is concentrating on hiring drivers, installing technology to allow riders to track bus locations and refining timetables.
The Interstate 70 route will stop in Glenwood Springs, Eagle, Vail, Frisco, Lakewood and Denver. The Interregional Express bus service also will include routes from Fort Collins and Colorado Springs to Denver.
The project is funded by the 2009 FASTER bill, which raised car registration fees to pay for transportation projects.
There will be no weekend service.
