Veteran indie rock band Stars came into the CPR Performance Studio last week before a headlining performance at Denver's Bluebird Theater.
Though the Canadian band was a few members short for the visit, vocalist Amy Millan provided enough spark and energy to fill the room for a unique, stripped-down performance of three songs from the band's seventh full-length, "No One is Lost."
Millan chatted with Keefer about maintaining dark undercurrents in pop music, singing "for the losers" and how recording above a discotheque influenced the danceability of the new album.
