Thousands of rubber ducks will once again float down Boulder Creek as part of one of the city's highly popular Memorial Day weekend traditions, reports the Daily Camera

Last year, the event was held an inflatable pool because of safety concerns, the paper says.

Meg Denbow, spokeswoman for Boulder Creek Events, explained the importance of the event to the larger Boulder Creek Festival:

"We like to think the entire festival has a lot of different draws. But of course the rubber duck race is the signature event," Denbow said.
