Encana faces lawsuit over employee designations

A lawsuit against Encana, a Canadian oil company with U.S. headquarters in Denver, claims the company denied workers overtime and benefits by counting them as independent contractors. The suit, by six workers, follows an earlier suit accusing Encana of treating as independent, workers who did the same job as Encana employees. The men in this latest lawsuit claim they had to work up to 14 hours a day, for two weeks, without extra pay. The company says it has no comment.
