Police: N. Colorado Death Possibly Related To Other Unsolved Shootings

Law enforcement in northern Colorado have not positively linked a third shooting to two other recent unsolved shootings nearby.

But Loveland Police Chief Luke Hecker said Thursday that there are "enough likenesses" to the two other shootings that the department "immediately reached out" to a taskforce working on the unsolved shootings. The taskforce includes members of the FBI, as well as investigators from Windsor, Larimer and Weld counties, reported Fox31.

Late Wednesday, 65-year-old William Roger Connole was found shot about two blocks from his home in Loveland. He later died. Family and neighbors say that he was a cancer survivor who often took late-night walks through his quiet neighborhood.

The overnight killing has raised alarm that a serial shooter might be trolling the area's roads.

In one shooting, a bicyclist was found dead along a rural road in mid-May. In another shooting, a driver was shot in her neck on Interstate 25 on April 22. She survived.

Hecker asked community members not to be fearful, but advised them to "share company with each other."
