Denver group A Band In Pictures broke up last year shortly after releasing its debut album. Three former members have recruited singer-bassist Collin Johnson, formerly of Bloodhound, and regrouped as the new band Flaural.

Flaural has already been booked at the Underground Music Showcase and Denver Psych Fest. The band performed at OpenAir recently to introduce its psychedelic rock before its show at Hi-Dive at 9 p.m. Friday.

In addition to performing, the members of Flaural spoke with Aaron 'Loki' Johnson about optimizing band names for Google searches, the shock of A Band in Pictures' breakup and how that experience has sharpened their outlook on their music.

Songs performed:

  • "Shower"
  • "Yawn"
  • "Hungry Lung"
