ZenPayroll--a darling startup of Google Capital--has chosen Denver to host its rapid expansion. Josh Reeves, the CEO and co-founder of ZenPayroll, announced the new location alongside Gov. John Hickenlooper at a press conference Tuesday.

The company's new Denver office will hire more than 100 full-time employees immediately and 1,000 people in the next few years. ZenPayroll said Denver won the expansion for its "quality of live, innovative culture, ideal economic environment, and wealth of top talent."

ZenPayroll launched in 2012. It currently processes billions of dollars in payroll for tens of thousands of small businesses in the U.S. The New York Times writes one reason for the company's popularity with customers and venture capitalists is the ease of use it brings to the payroll process--something usually considered a hassle.

The new office will be located near Union Station in Downtown Denver.
