Copper Mountain Ski Area Starts Producing Snow

· Oct. 6, 2015, 10:42 pm

Copper Mountain became first ski area to start snowmaking operations for the upcoming winter season, putting the mountain on track for a November 6 opening.

"Definitely going to use those snow guns as much as we can," said the resort's Morgan Whitehouse. "Also hoping Mother Nature helps out a little bit."

Real snow could hit mountain as soon as Tuesday night. Other ski areas are still waiting for the weather to cool off enough for snowmaking.
