Somerset Catalog, ‘My Brother, The War’

November 2, 2015

Somerset Catalog is a Denver band featuring members of Poet's Row, Everything Absent or Distorted, Instant Empire and more. The band released their debut full-length, "Lonely Fang," last month via Misra Records, a label that member Bryce Merrill helps run.

Though it's Somerset Catalog's first LP, the band sounds confident and mature thanks to the well-versed combination of Denver music scene veterans.

Songs like "My Brother, The War" feature a wide range of acoustic and electronic instruments and arrangements reminiscent of indie bands like The National, though they prefer to describe themselves as "bubble gum doom pop."

Somerset Catalog performs at Denver's Hi-Dive on Dec. 12. Download "My Brother, The War" via the link above.
