Denver folk musician Josh Dillard is back with the new EP "Through The Eye Of Time," out Nov. 17. Like his previous work, the record blends country, pop and doo-wop.
We welcomed Dillard and his band into the CPR Performance Studio for the second time to share some of his music. In addition to performing four songs from the new EP, Dillard spoke with Alisha Sweeney about recruiting his family to help craft the record, the growing popularity of vinyl records and receiving a career advancement award from Colorado Creative Industries.
Josh Dillard performs at Everyday Joe's Coffee House in Fort Collins on Friday and at Syntax Physic Opera on Saturday.

On releasing "Through The Eye Of Time" on vinyl
"My cousin and I grew up on vinyl. I can still remember going through my dad's stash when I was really little and coming across Simon & Garfunkel's 'Parsley, Sage, Rosemary and Thyme' and being like, 'What is this?'
"Stuff like that really informed us as kids and built a love for music that we have, a lot of which is older music. It's really nostalgic for me. That makes it even more meaningful to actually put [the EP] out on vinyl."
On the musical partnership with his cousin Peter Schottleutner:
"There's a mutual understanding that is unspoken in terms of how we want things to sound and what we want it to feel like. So it's always worked really easily to put out albums together."
