Pueblo Calls In Overdue Fines For Overgrown Weeds

The City of Pueblo is sending notices to property owners of unpaid code enforcement violations for overgrown weeds.

KOAA-TV reports that some of the unpaid violations go back decades and some homeowners are being surprised by bills they didn't know they owed.

City Manager Sam Azad said in late July that around $600,000 in unpaid fines are still on the books.

Azad has said the city council wants to be a little more aggressive in making property owners be more accountable in cleaning up their property.
