Englewood Bookstore Named ‘ISIS’ Vandalized

A bookstore in the Denver suburb of Englewood has been vandalized and the owners believe it is because of its name: ISIS Books and Gifts.

KMGH-TV reports that the ISIS sign was damaged after someone threw rocks at it.

The store's owner says they have been targeted by vandals before because of the name, which is commonly used to refer to the militant Islamic State group. She says the most recent vandalism is likely because of heightened emotions in the wake of the Paris attacks that killed more than 100 people on Friday.

The owner says the store is named after the Egyptian goddess Isis. She says the store has been the same for 35 years and she has no plans of renaming it.
