Steamboat Today reports that Intrawest will spend between $43 and $48 million to upgrade its resorts, including the Steamboat Ski Area in Steamboat Springs.

Intrawest CEO Tom Marano announced the capital projects Wednesday during a conference call about the company's second quarter earnings.

He says the mountain coaster and mini golf course will build on successful summer activities at some of the company's other resorts, including Colorado's Winter Park.

Marano says a new, high-speed Elkhead lift will also increase the resort's capacity.
