Canadian folk musician Basia Bulat recently released her fourth studio album, "Good Advice." It's the follow up to 2013's "Tall Tall Shadow," which was nominated for the Polaris Music Prize for the best Canadian album of the year.
The music of "Good Advice" continues in the vein of "Tall Tall Shadow" by incorporating more rock elements than Bulat's earlier work. Bulat worked with producer Jim James, the lead singer of My Morning Jacket.
Bulat also adds an edge to songs like "Infamous" by mixing acoustic folk instruments with synthesizer sounds.
Basia Bulat performs at Denver's Larimer Lounge on March 5.
