Bleached: ‘Can You Deal?’

· Aug. 21, 2017, 6:29 am

Bleached achieved critical and commerical success with its sophomore album, last year's "Welcome The Worms." That led the Los Angeles quartet to appearances on late night TV and opening gigs for bands like Against Me! and Paramore. This year the band followed up that record with the EP "Can You Deal?"

Singer Jennifer Clavin expresses her frustration with the male-centric music industry through the record's endlessly catchy title track. "Can You Deal?" is a feminist rock anthem that Clavin says is directed at those "feigning surprise every time a woman plugs in and plays well, gets behind the drums, or has the sickest bass style."

Bleached performs Aug. 27 at Larimer Lounge. CPR's OpenAir is presenting the show.
