Stars has thrived for nearly two decades on thoughtful pop hooks and the lyrical interplay of singers Amy Millan and Torquil Campbell. Members have regularly contributed to the indie supergroup Broken Social Scene, including work on this year's "Hug Of Thunder."
Last week the Canadian quintet released its eighth album, "There Is No Love In Fluorescent Light." The single "Real Thing" continues in the synth-driven direction of 2014's "No One Is Lost," with another masterfully catchy chorus from the indie veterans.
