Jad Abumrad is the creator and former host of Radiolab and, among other honors, is the recipient of the MacArthur “Genius” award. Employing his dual backgrounds as a composer and journalist, he orchestrates dialogue, music, interviews and sounds into compelling documentaries that draw listeners into investigations of otherwise intimidating topics.
In this new, innovative, and timely talk, Abumrad will focus on how to have difficult conversations with fellow humans. Drawing on the latest research, and historical approaches, as well as interviews with social scientists, therapists, psychologists, journalists, oral historians, and philosophers about their “talk” practice, he has created a series of lectures, games, and exercises that he will explore at the Holiday Theater.
Colorado Public Radio is the media sponsor for Icons: An Evening with Jad Abumrad.
