St. Andrew UMC presents: Journey of the Heart, a Sacred Oratorio
When
Event Description
"More than 20 years ago after the Columbine High School shooting, Denver-based composer Keith Ferguson began working on something sacred. Watching the suffering that was happening in the shooting aftermath he 'began a journey to discover an antidote, for the tragic and devastating violence that was Columbine.' He 'began to compose a choral work that would speak to the possibility of healing and personal transformation.' What emerged was music that would recognize and celebrate the inextricable connection of humanity. Finally, after 20 years, this music will be performed in a live, intimate setting as a free offering of the Denver Metro community. The work is entitled 'Journey of the Heart' and it will feature a soloist and choir assembled by Maestro Dr. Brian Stone, the Wild Beautiful Orchestra, Dr. Chappell Kingsland Artistic and Executive Director and will be conducted by Maestro Dr. William Skoog."
