Colorado Public Radio (CPR) is seeking a Major Gifts Supervisor.
About the Position:
In collaboration with the Leadership Giving Executive Director, the Major Gifts Supervisor will lead a team of frontline fundraisers, gift officers focused on relationship development with major donors. The supervisor will work with partners across CPR to coordinate strategic donor relationships and will monitor progress toward revenue goals through the support of this team. This position also serves as a Major Gift Officer, managing and cultivating a small portfolio of donors and prospective donors.
This is a newly developed role for CPR and requires in person meetings with supporters and CPR colleagues as needed. The person in this position needs to be located in the Denver Metro area upon starting.
About You:
You are an empathetic, collaborative leader with strong interpersonal skills who has experience inspiring others. You have a strong ability to articulate an organization's mission, impact and fundraising needs to various audiences. You’re a proactive person who will foster innovation and drive continuous improvement. You'd be a good fit for the role if you enjoy analyzing challenges and have high emotional intelligence.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 3 - 5 years of fundraising experience with major or planned gifts. Or, significant comparable experience in sales, or another client relationship management role.
- This experience should include a history of developing clear and concise funding proposals, a track record of meeting fundraising goals, experience cultivating and securing six-figure gifts/sales and above, experience in making cold calls, and experience developing cultivation / solicitation.
- A minimum of 2 - 4 years of supervisory experience. If you do not have formal management experience, you must have at least 3 years experience mentoring or coaching others and a strong desire to further develop your people management skills.
- Demonstrated experience using emotional intelligence to build trust, navigate conflict constructively, adapt to diverse perspectives, and foster positive working relationships in and outside of one’s team.
- Strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
- A demonstrated ability to think strategically and creatively.
- Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills.
- A demonstrated history of completing assignments, multi-tasking, and meeting deadlines.
- Attention to detail and strong project management skills.
- Intermediate to advanced experience with Microsoft Office, Google Suite and CRMs Some local travel and occasional non-standard work hours will be needed in order to meet with donors.
Education Equivalency:
- A related bachelor’s or master’s degree is not required, but might assist in helping a candidate with less than the minimum years of experience qualify for this role.
